It was noted that light to moderate ashfall could be observed in the residential areas of the region. Authorities emphasized that the explosive activity at the Popocatepetl Volcano would continue at a moderate level in the coming days, urging citizens to stay away from the volcano's crater. Residents of the area were also requested to take precautions against ashfall that could potentially be harmful to health.Ashfall had been observed before The sound of the eruptions that occurred in the Popocatepetl Volcano in April and May of the past year was heard from kilometers away, and the force of the explosions had shattered windows of some houses and businesses. Additionally, significant ashfall had been experienced in the surrounding residential areas due to the eruptions. Schools were closed in many cities in the region, and disruptions in air travel had occurred.With an increase in activity for about 2 years, the number of eruptions recorded since the beginning of the year at the Popocatepetl Volcano has risen to 608, including the ones that happened today. A total of 113 eruptions had been recorded at the volcano throughout the year 2022.
