According to a statement from the Mexico National Center for Disaster Prevention (CENAPRED), it was reported that within the last 24 hours, three new eruptions and 112 instances of gas and ash emissions were recorded at the Popocatepetl Volcano. In the daily report published about the volcano's activities, it was mentioned that the ashes emitted from the crater spread towards the west and northwest directions due to the influence of the wind. It was noted that light to moderate ashfall could be observed in the residential areas of the region. Authorities emphasized that the explosive activity at the Popocatepetl Volcano would continue at a moderate level in the coming days, urging citizens to stay away from the volcano's crater. Residents of the area were also requested to take precautions against ashfall that could potentially be harmful to health.

With an increase in activity for about 2 years, the number of eruptions recorded since the beginning of the year at the Popocatepetl Volcano has risen to 608, including the ones that happened today. A total of 113 eruptions had been recorded at the volcano throughout the year 2022.
